As workers in China prepare to celebrate their New Year on 26 January, train stations are being besieged by customers trying to get tickets for their journey home. This is the first of the nationwide week-long holidays when people usually return to their home towns to visit family and friends, resulting in a mass migration.
Remember that if you need to order or import goods from China this month, you will need to do so before the twenty-sixth when every factory and freight port closes.
