China’s coastal province Guangdong, near to Hong Kong, remains the country’s biggest consumer of bottled wine imports. From January to June, the province imported US$437.3 million worth of bottled wines, surpassing US$332.2 million to Shanghai, although the latter had more imports by volume.

The value of these two provinces’ imports combined accounted for more than 60% of the country’s total wine import value, as shown by the figures.

Other top consumers of bottled win imports in China are Zhejiang province, Beijing, Fujian province, Shandong province, Tianjin, Jiangsu province, Liaoning province and Sichuan province.

Meanwhile, the country imported 75.51 million litres of bulk wine.
