Romania imported 120,830 tons of fresh and frozen potatoes in the first nine months of 2016, an increase of 45% against the similar period of 2015. The sums spent surpassed 27.4 million euro in the mentioned period, while in the first nine months of 2015 they were 2.4 smaller, 11.39 million euro respectively.

On the other hand, fresh and frozen potatoes exports increased to 2,1600 tons after the first three quarters of 2016, being double that in the similar period of 2015 – 1,271.4 tons.

Imports and exports were to and from the countries of the EU and the extra-community countries.
