Freight movements through major UK ports declined over the 12 months to June 2010. Imports reduced by 6% and exports by 3%. HOwever, the port of Liverpool’s Royal Seaforth container terminal is bring in an additional 5000 slots, based on their own strong growth figures. They have also improved the turn round of container vehicles by 30% thanks to an investment in operational IT.
