The Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) has asked freight and courier companies to help in disrupting the supply of chemicals which are used to make drugs like ecstasy and amphetamine, and those used for ‘cutting’ cocaine. SOCA has alerted freight and courier companies that criminals involved in processing illegal drugs may be exploiting their services. Courier companies have been asked to stop transporting certain chemicals, while staff in freight and courier companies’ call centres and distribution and delivery centres have been given a list of signs that criminals could be using their services.
