Shots have apparently been fired in Turkey as a result of the continuing unrest in the freight parcels industry.  A dispute has been running since April at depots in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir because 33 employees were allegedly sacked for encouraging union membership at a parcel shipping group’s terminals.  Some workers were re-instated, but a further 70 were dismissed in May when the situation worsened.  Workers are complaining about low pay and bad working conditions.
