A quarry company and a cement company are putting forward proposals for a 26 acre rail freight interchange in West Kent.  The interchange will be called Borough Green International Gateway, and will occupy the site of a former quarry near the M26.  A Conservation charity has set up campaign to fight the proposal, saying that the intrusion of railways, shunting yards and freight trains will threaten the ecology of the site and endanger wildlife.
