The government Competition Commission in Italy is investigating twenty eight freight forwarding companies who are alleged to be involved in price fixing. The national forwarding association ‘Fedespedi’ is also implicated;the Commission alleges that sensitive business information was exchanged between the forwarding companies and Fedespedi, with the aim of agreeing price increases for road freight services to and from Italy. The price fixing accusations cover the period from 2002 until the end of 2007, and Fedespedi is co-operating fully with the investigation.
