The volume of freight passing through Heathrow in August was 111,324 tonnes.  This means that the total freight for the first eight months of this year is down 15% compared witht he same period in 2008.  Heathrow is the world’s fourth largest air freight hub, so this reduction in volumes is a good indicator of what is happening to air freight worldwide,
