Skills for Logistics is warning everyone on its database not to be taken in by an internet scam which asks them to pay £45 for a card to exempt them for the requirements of the DCPC regulations.  Drivers need to complete four modules of study to be eligible for the Certificate of Professional Competence, and this card will not exempt them from this.  The start date for the Certificate for lorry drivers was 10 September 2009.  Drivers who already have a licence will be permitted to continue driving for five years without any additional training.  The Certificate is an EU requirement aimed at improving professionalism in the haulage, road freight and passenger transport industries.
