A recent report suggests that Russia continues to offer good potential for international trade, although it is currently suffering a slow down in common with the rest of the world’s economies. Overall, it is the world’s fastest growing economy, and already has a large project forwarding sector serves the oil, gas and chemical industries.  Domestic road freight is still undeveloped, which will inevitably lead to improvements in infrastructure as demand continues to grow for luxury goods, particularly in Moscow and St Petersburg.  Trade and customs procedures are gradually being reformed which should in turn make the shipping process more streamlined for both exporters and importers.
