Work on a major new logistics and freight centre in Calais is due to begin next year. The centre will cater for goods being distributed between the UK and mainland Europe is the biggest logistics project in Northern France, and will be build in the Turquerie industrial zone, which runs alongside the Calais – Dunkirk railway line. Standing between Calais port and the Channel Tunnel, the first phase of the development will be dedicated to logistics and transport services, and it is hoped that the project will create thousands of new jobs.
