Hull University is promoting logistics as a career to primary school children.  The Logistics Institute is offering pupils at Hull schools the opportunity to experience loading a container on the a ship, using simulators which will give them some idea of the skills needed to use heavy equipment.  Pupils can also use a simulation game which demonstrates the main principles of supply chain management.  The sessions will give children an idea of how essential freight and logistics are to the economy, and demonstrate what kind of careers are available.  Hull also operates a programme for teenagers of 16-19 which gives them the opportunity to acquire new skills, qualifications and experiences and raises their awareness of opportunities in logisitics and freight.
