Turkish Airlines has signed a lease agreement with AerCap for converted Boeing 777-300ERSF freighters, marking a significant expansion of its cargo operations. The move underscores the growing demand for widebody freighter capacity across international trade lanes.

AerCap, the world’s largest aircraft leasing company, confirmed that the agreement forms part of its wider 777-300ERSF conversion programme. The lessor has already delivered converted aircraft to Fly Meta and secured additional lease agreements with Ethiopian Airlines and China Southern Group, highlighting strong market appetite for this aircraft type.

The Boeing 777-300ERSF offers greater payload capacity and improved fuel efficiency compared with older-generation freighters, making it an attractive option for carriers seeking to modernise their cargo fleets. For Turkish Airlines, the addition of these aircraft will support the continued growth of Turkish Cargo, one of the fastest-expanding air freight operators globally.
