China has solidified its position as a global maritime powerhouse, with 95 per cent of the nation’s foreign trade cargo transported via sea routes, according to recent parliamentary discussions.

Ni Di, a deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress and senior ship captain at state-owned China COSCO Shipping Corporation, revealed that China’s international shipping volume now represents nearly one-third of the global total.

These figures underscore China’s strategic advantage in international trade logistics, supported by one of the world’s largest commercial fleets and an extensive seafaring workforce. The maritime sector continues to play a pivotal role in facilitating China’s economic growth and global trade connectivity.

For freight forwarders like RW Freight, China’s maritime infrastructure presents significant opportunities for international cargo movement.
