The Kitkimeot Inuit Association has announced a new subsidy that will cover a significant portion of the shipping costs for Inuit beneficiaries in the region. The subsidy, which covers 75 per cent of the cost of transporting snowmobiles, ATVs, boats, and motors to the Kitikmeot region, is expected to save the recipients thousands of dollars in shipping expenses.
This initiative aims to make essential vehicles more accessible and affordable for Inuit communities in the north. By reducing the financial burden of shipping costs, the Kitkimeot Inuit Association hopes to improve the quality of life for beneficiaries and support their traditional activities, such as hunting and fishing.
