Polish freight drivers have extended and intensified protests blocking Ukrainian freight vehicles from using several border crossings on the shared border as of Nov. 29.
The organizers state the protest will continue until Jan. 3.
Drivers have extended the roadblock protests to the Medyka-Shehyni crossing, bringing the total number of blockaded border crossings to four.
Protesters will now man the roadblocks 24 hours a day, allowing only two freight vehicles per hour to enter Poland from Ukraine at each affected crossing. Light vehicles and humanitarian and military shipments are not being impeded.
Polish drivers are demanding that authorities re-impose quotas on Ukrainian freight transport which were lifted at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. So far, authorities have been unable to negotiate a reopening of the border.
