A report into sea freight decarbonisation shows that a third of shipping industry leaders have taken no action on switch to green fuels by 2050.
Respondents were shipping companies that own and operate fleets comprising roughly 20% of the world’s total capacity.
One-third of shipping companiessay they “don’t know” what type of fuel they expect their fleets to run on in 2030 and 2050. The remaining two-thirds have diverging expectations around future fuel usage.
