Japan’s exports and imports continued to recover last month from a downturn caused mainly by Covid-19.
Exports fell by 4.9 percent in September from a year ago, but even this negative figure still shows a path of recovery from May, when it plunged nearly 30 percent.
Exports to the USA increased for the first time in 14 months. Export Shipments to China, the world’s second largest economy, increased by 14 percent for a third-straight month of gains. Exports to the European Union are still showing a fall of 10.6 percent, but the figure is smaller than previous months.
