China is intending to apply “enhanced inspection” of imports of wheat arriving from Australia.
Shippers in Australia have already sold more than dozen wheat export shipments worth almost $250 million. In May, China applied an 80 per cent tariff on Australia’s barley exports, which were worth $1.6 billion a year.
