The South African blueberry export harvest has come to an end, with increased volumes of exports.
Stone fruit exports run through to the end of March. Blueberries peak in August/ September, and are followed early peaches.
The majority of blueberries from South Africa are exported to the UK and Europe.
A South African producer trialled the first ever sea freight shipment of South African blueberries to the United States last year.
Although the shipping time was five weeks, it was 100% successful.
