A new greenfield container terminal at the Port of Gävle, Sweden is to be developed based on finance from a Swedish investment company.
Gävle is Sweden’s third largest container port, and has experienced significant growth for some time. Demand for container transport has been on the increase, which means that Gävle’s annual throughput has increased to around 300,000 TEU. It is an important hub for exports from Sweden, and the largest container terminal on the east coast is now in the process of doubling its size.
