6.05 million tons of apples were put into storage in China between January and December 13th, 2018.

Apple exports in 2018 show a significant decline. The export volume decreased by over 10% from August onwards compared with the same period in 2017. China exported only 890 thousand tons of apples in the first 8 months of 2018, a reduction of 12.6%. The main reason is that India ceased apple import from China in May of 2017.

Apple exports from China to India accounted for 11% of the overall apple export volume in 2016. The proportion was still 10% in the first months of 2017, which shows how important the Indian market is for Chinese apple exports.
