The European Union ended its five-year restriction on solar panel imports from China on Monday.
The previous week, the European Commission had announced that it would not continue trade defence measures on solar panels from Beijing,
The commission weighed the needs of producers in the EU against those of solar panel users and importers, before its decision that a complete annulment was in the “best interests of the EU as a whole”.
The Ministry of Commerce in China responded by saying it was “a model for successfully solving trade friction through consultation”.
