The volume of goods exports from Scotland fell sharply at the end of last year, according to official data.
Food and drinks exports, in particular dropped, but the printing, engineering, wood and paper sectors also experienced falling volumes.
The index of manufactured exports showed a 2.9 per cent decrease for the period October to December. Manufactured exports make up about half the value of overseas sales and therefore are an important factor in Scotland’s output.
