Imports of wine to China rose again in 2017; exports from Australia, Chile and Georgia showed notable growth. It seems that the market is increasingly demanding quality, as average prices for bulk and sparkling wines are increasing.
Imports of bottled wines rose by 14.6% in volume and 16.4% in value in 2017 in comparison with the the latest Chinese customs figures.
In total, 745 million litres of wine worth 2.8 billion US dollars were exported to China during the year 2017, a 16.9% increase in volume and 18% increase in value.
