A group of rail freight operators and logistics companies has initiated a project aiming to enhance intermodal transport services by using digital technologies. Participants in the three-year project will use a newly-developed data hub and standardised interfaces to obtain direct access to key information on intermodal logistics chains.
All project partners are sharing responsibility for the specification of the data hub, the definition of interfaces and, where required, the adaptation of business processes. Programming implementation will be done by software developers.
