Rail freight volumes in China recorded faster growth in July, the Chinese national railway operator said on Wednesday. Railways carried 246 million tons of freight cargo last month, up 17 percent year on year, according to figures from the China Railway Corporation (CRC).
Freight by high-speed railway increased 70 percent compared with the previous year. In the first seven months of 2017, rail freight volume reached 1.7 billion tons.
In July, industrial output, fixed-asset investment and consumption all showed slower expansion than in June, but electricity use saw stronger growth.
