A multi-national logistics company is entering a partnership to manufacture of battery-electric freight delivery vehicles. Using an existing chassis, the new van will be equipped with a battery-electric drive train and fitted with a special body. The start of production is scheduled for July 2017.
The logistics company already uses its own-build urban freight delivery vehicle. The new design will be a major addition to the fleet; at least 2,500 of the new electric vehicles will be in operation before the end of 2018 supporting the urban freight delivery traffic. The joint project will become the largest manufacturer of battery-electric medium-duty freight delivery vehicles in Europe.
