Speaking at the China International Transportation and Logistic Expo in Shanghai, JSC Russian Railways President Oleg Belozerov confirmed that the company will develop new freight services on the Europe–China Route.
In his speech, delivered at the ‘Railway Business at Transit Speeds conference’ within the Expo framework, the president of Russian Railways said that creating the necessary conditions to cultivate demand for transportation between Europe and Asia was an important task.
“For Russia, the question of not only the development of transport and logistics infrastructure in the eastern regions of the country, but also the creation of optimal routes overland for the delivery of goods in transit is arising. To do this, on the one hand we need to make the most of our national territory, and, on the other hand, take advantage of the integration processes in Eurasia,” said Mr. Belozerov.
