An Irish Sea freight operator is increasing the frequency of its sailings to and from the Port of Liverpool, due to the new Liverpool2 container terminal.
The changes by the Freight company, in response to the creation of Liverpool2 and customer demand, involve the deployment of an additional ship, allowing customers in Scotland and Ireland to benefit from the benefits of deep sea vessels calling at Liverpool2, via an integrated approach to short sea shipping and cargo handling.
The £300m Liverpool2 project is near completion. When fully operational, the facility will be able to handle most of the world’s largest cargo ships.
Earlier this week port owner, Peel Ports, took delivery of five huge cranes for Liverpool2 which arrived by barge from the manufacturer in China.
