A major freight carrying international airline has decided to quote all-inclusive freight rates. This will replace the current system where there are separate charges for weight/volume, plus fuel and security surcharges. The Director General of the British International Freight Association welcomed this as a step in the right direction, providing ‘it leads to the transparency which freight forwarders require.’

The new system will be implemented in Europe from February, and the rest of the airline’s market in March. It is hope that other airlines will follow suit.
