Finland’s postal operator, Itella, said it will abandon its business activities in the fields of air and sea freight in Scandinavia in order to improve profitability within the organisation.

Itella will give up service warehouses in Sweden, Norway and Denmark as it concentrates on road transport services in Scandinavian countries.

Internal distribution logistics in Sweden, Norway and Denmark will be outsourced, the firm said. None of the changes will affect operations in Finland or the Baltic Republics.

Their current strategy is to focus its business in Finland, Russia and surrounding areas.
