Mango exporters on Tuesday asked the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister of Pakistan to intervene on the unnecessary regulations that prevent mango exports to the European markets, causing billions of rupees losses to the mango exporters.

During a meeting with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Engineer Sohail Lashari, a 10-member delegation of mango exporters said that the wrong policy decision has put the jobs of thousands of workers attached with this business at risk.

The policymakers have initiated the action on wrong perception that has no link with the reality, said the exporters.

It is a great opportunity for the Pakistani mango exporters to capture the European market as the Indian mango had already been banned in Europe for having fruit fly.
