Freight volumes at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany have set a record for the ninth time in a row. Leipzig/Halle handled 887,101 tonnes of freight in 2013, an increase of 2.7 percent. “Leipzig/Halle Airport has continued to enhance its position as Germany’s second-largest cargo hub and has also reinforced its ranking as one of the most important airfreight handling centers in Europe,” Markus Kopp, CEO of Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding, said.
