The first regular container service arrived at London Gateway, the UK’s newest deep water container port, on Wednesday 6 November.  There is a rail freight terminal alongside the new port container handling area, which means that containerised freight can be moved to rail hubs in the Midlands, South Yorkshire and the North West.
