During the first nine months of 2013, the number of freight trains travelling through the Channel Tunnel has grown by double digits.  Most of this growth is due to intermodal traffic and steel transport.  Eurotunnel is trying to remove the numerous non-tariff barriers obstructing the development of cross-Channel rail freight.
