Moving freight on coastal and feeder shipping services has created an ‘M6 of the North Sea’, offering a more environmental friendly way of transporting cargo between Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Immingham, Teesport, South Shields and Grangemouth. The service can be used by shippers moving only one freight container per week, even though it is often perceived as being for big players only.
