The British International Freight Association wanted to see positive announcements on transport infrastructure spending, fuel duty and business tax reform. The Director General wanted to see certainty on fuel policies, treating freight forwarders as essential users entitled to a rebate. The Association will probably have been disappointed, as the Budget merely postponed the fuel duty increase and made no positive announcements about infrastructure.
