The railway freight companies of the Czech Republic and Slovakia may merge as both companies have financial problems.  The possibility of a merger has been discussed before, but both Prime Ministers admitted it on TV this week.

Small rail freight companies find it difficult to survive, and it his hoped that a merged company would be one of the four or five strongest rail freight companies in the whole of Europe.
