SNCF Fret has been fined 60.9 million Euros for commercial practices which the Competition Regulator says were designed to keep competition out of the rail freight sector in France.  An investigation into the practices was initiated by a complaint from another rail freight operator. One of these practices involved preventing competitors from gaining access to rail freight capacity such as handling facilities, train slots and wagons.
