The Scottish freight and logistics industry is concerned that it will not be able to meet reduction emission targets after a reduction in government subsidies.  Support for modal shift has been reduced from £10.3m in 2010 to £2.9m since the spending review announcements.

Earlier this year, Scotland transport minister Keith Brown told the Freight Transport Association that there is little room for manoeuvre in the spending budget. Freight managers in the country will be unable to invest in the facilities and fleet solutions they need to make the shift to reduce carbon emissions, according to the Freight Transport Association (FTA).
