RDF – Refuse-derived fuel is made by using a waste converter technology to shred and dry municipal solid waste (MSW) and remove recyclable and non burnable materials such as glass and metal leaving mostly organic, plastic and biodegradable waste. RDF can be used as a source of fuel in power generation and in Europe it can be used in the cement kiln industry to complement or replace fossil fuels.
