The World Shipping council and other industry bodies have issued a new Frequently Asked Questions document to help with the new container weighing regulations which take effect on 1 July 2016. The regulations require packed shipping containers to have a verified gross mass before loading on a ship for export.
The amendments are intended to enhance maritime safety for container ships.
