Ukraine and Albania have taken a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral trade relations, signing a new road transport agreement on 16 June. The deal paves the way for direct freight routes between the two countries and introduces a ‘transport visa-free’ regime, designed to streamline cross-border haulage operations.

This agreement is expected to simplify logistics procedures, reduce administrative barriers, and enable hauliers to operate more efficiently between Ukrainian and Albanian territories. By removing the need for additional permits, transport operators will benefit from quicker turnaround times and improved access to new markets across South-Eastern Europe.

For the freight forwarding industry, the agreement represents a valuable opportunity to expand service offerings and develop new trade corridors. Businesses involved in international logistics can anticipate enhanced connectivity, greater route flexibility, and improved supply chain efficiency as a direct result of this partnership.

At RW Freight, we continue to monitor developments across the European transport sector to ensure our clients benefit from the latest opportunities in international freight forwarding.
