The maritime freight sector has witnessed a positive development as Pembrokeshire Bioenergy has recommenced shipping operations for wood pellets destined for the heating market. The company has successfully transported its inaugural shipment of 2,500 tonnes from Scotland, with the cargo arriving safely at the Port of Avonmouth.

This resumption of sea freight operations marks a significant milestone for the biomass energy supply chain, demonstrating the continued importance of maritime transport in supporting the UK’s renewable heating sector. The wood pellets, sourced from Scotland, will contribute to meeting the growing demand for sustainable heating solutions across the region.

The successful delivery underscores the vital role that sea freight continues to play in facilitating bulk cargo movements, particularly for renewable energy products. As the biomass sector expands, efficient maritime logistics remain essential for connecting suppliers with end markets whilst maintaining cost-effective and environmentally conscious transport solutions.
