RW Freight is closely following the developments of wind-powered cargo shipping. The Pacific Grebe cargo ship currently moored in Southampton harbour, is fitted with a sizeable green and blue sail that harnesses wind energy to propel the ship.
The planned sea trials aim to showcase the feasibility and effectiveness of utilising wind power in the cargo shipping industry. The successful implementation of wind-powered cargo ships could lead to a significant reduction in the freight carbon footprint and contribute to a greener future for global trade.
