A leading global shipping company has issued an advisory warning of significant cargo and vessel disruption following the closure of Shanghai and Ningbo ports in China due to an approaching typhoon.

The advisory states that ships are currently facing extensive waiting times of up to 60 hours to berth at Shanghai and 48 hours at Ningbo. This congestion is primarily attributed to vessel bunching as ships have gathered ahead of the storm’s arrival.

RW Freight anticipates that this disruption will have a notable impact on cargo movement and supply chain operations in the region until the situation normalises after the typhoon.
