A training centre of explosive detection dogs is being established at Liege airport.  Dogs are more flexible at detecting explosives in air cargo than x-ray machines.  With an x-ray, each pallet of freight had to go through the scanner, so every pallet was carried to and from the machine.  The trained dogs will go to the freight, making detection more efficient and rapid.
