China has begun modernising its rail freight industry after seeking opinions from customers. The Beijing Railway Bureau Freight Center is offering new services, including a direct freight container train from Beijing to Chengdu in Southwest China. Reforms began on June 15 and will continue as the company moves towards full market-oriented reform.
